Care Camps Foundation is a national non-profit that solely funds medically supervised pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada who are members of the Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA). Our mission is to give joy, hope, and the healing power of the outdoors and community to children living with cancer and their families.
Care Camps Foundation’s legacy began 40 years ago when a caring group of Kampgrounds of America (KOA) campground owners started fundraising to support pediatric oncology camps. KOA Inc. and campgrounds continue to be our largest funder, and our donors have now expanded to the broader outdoor industry along with a wide array of other generous businesses, foundations, and individuals.
The partnership between COCA and Care Camps Foundation was formed in 2014 with the goals of raising awareness and strengthening the quality of pediatric oncology camps in addition to providing financial support to COCA member camps.
In 2023, Care Camps Foundation awarded a total of $2M of grant funding to support the operational and capital improvement expenditures of COCA member camps as well as COCA’s Gold Ribbon Accreditation Program and professional education for their members.
