Dr. Ann Gillard is an accomplished researcher and educator with over 25 years of experience in youth development and camp research. Currently serving as the Research Director for SeriousFun Children’s Network, she also holds adjunct faculty positions at Clemson University and Quinnipiac University. Dr. Gillard earned her Ph.D. in Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University, specializing in youth development. Her research focuses on camp experiences for youth with serious illnesses, as well as program evaluation in various youth settings, especially how out-of-school-time setting-level factors can influence youth outcomes. Dr. Gillard is the co-chair of the American Camp Association’s Research and Evaluation Advisory Committee and coordinated the Camp Research Forum for 8 years. A prolific author and presenter, Dr. Gillard has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and frequently speaks at national conferences. Her work has been recognized with awards from the American Camp Association and other organizations, reflecting her significant contributions to the field of youth development.
